The California Vision and Leadership Award is presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves among leaders and demonstrated their leadership skills towards enhancing socio-economic opportunities for our community. The Awards Gala is a black-tie event held during National Hispanic Heritage Month, culminating a month-long celebration of Hispanic contributions to our community.

The Award is presented by CHARO Community Development Corporation. CHARO has a succesful 38-year history of creating economic development programs that empower community residents.

All CHARO's services are provided in a bilingual/ bicultural environment and have yielded over $35 million in economic impact in the Southern California region.

 

 

 

1. Vision Award for Economic Development
Recognizes individual who has demonstrated a commitment to advocate and support programs that lead to economic independence for our community with a Vision Award for Economic Development.

Beginning in 2004 the Award now recognizes small businesses who have created community based jobs.

2. Vision Award for Corporate Leadership in Cultivating Entrepreneur and Business Development in the Latino Community
Recognizes individual who has demonstrated a vision for cultivating entrepreneurs and business development in the Latino community.

3. Vision Award for Community Development and Advocacy for the Latino Community (Elected Leadership)
Recognizes individual who has demonstrated a vision for enduring service to the Latino community and its interests in our Government.
