The California Vision and Leadership Award is presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves among leaders and demonstrated their leadership skills towards enhancing socio-economic opportunities for our community. The Awards Gala is a black-tie event held during National Hispanic Heritage Month, culminating a month-long celebration of Hispanic contributions to our community.
The Award is presented by CHARO Community Development Corporation. CHARO has a succesful 38-year history of creating economic development programs that empower community residents.
All CHARO's services are provided in a bilingual/ bicultural environment and have yielded over $35 million in economic impact in the Southern California region.

Beginning in 2004 the Award now recognizes small businesses who have created community based jobs.
